As A Football Fan … I Love Bellamy!

September 22nd, 2009 by The Editor, EF24/7

Okay, let’s be clear, Craig Bellamy is wild. He is rash, unpredictable, and probably would be a career criminal if he wasn’t a footballer. He’s got more tattoos than John Mayer’s right arm, more baggage than an Airbus landing at Heathrow, and he’s played for more teams than Shaquille O’Neal. Oh, and let’s not forget that he’s an exceptional golfer as well…

I’m sure all you United fans hate this guy right now, and you should. He decked one of your supporters after he ran to the pitch on the way to that thrilling finish to the derby match this weekend. But, let’s be honest, if you were running onto the pitch, wouldn’t you head for Toure or Lescott? For God’s sake man, stay away from the Nutter with the Putter. I know, I know—the fan was celebrating a great win, but he really took a wrong turn after the “4 minutes” of stoppage time. Good old Craig found his way over to this guy and let him know what he thought. Hey, this fan should be thanking his lucky stars that Bellamy wasn’t on the 18th green at St. Andrew’s or else he would have ended up with a pitching wedge in his face. (As you can tell I think the fact that Bellamy beat the crap out of John Arne Riise during a training session when they were both at Liverpool is awesome.)

Yeah, yeah, I know this sets a bad example for kids or something. And this certainly isn’t “fair play” or good sportsmanship. But who wants to watch that mess? Not me! Craig Bellamy is a walking, talking train wreck. I bet he won’t make it to December before he and Adebayor kill each other. The best part is City is defending him. Today, City assistant manager Mark Bowen said of the confrontation Read the rest of this entry »

Adebayor - You’re An Ugly F***king Disgrace!

September 13th, 2009 by The Editor, EF24/7

Emmanuel Adebayor’s antics at the weekend were , least to say, embarrassing. In fact for a professional footballer, it was an absolute shame considering you’ve millions of fans and especially kids watching it. The ‘it’ being the beautiful game.

His stamping of Rob Van Persie and his utterly disrespectful celebration right in front of those fans who tolerated him for nearly 3 years was something that should make the FA, UEFA and more importantly FIFA tie his arse to the bench for at least a month. FIFA - the preachers of the ‘fair game play’ don’t usually miss out on anything that scars the game, so I’m eagerly waiting to see what he does. Mean while, this is what the FA have said:

“Under the fast-track disciplinary process, Adebayor has been charged with violent conduct following an incident with Robin van Persie, which resulted in the Arsenal player receiving facial injuries. Adebayor has also been charged with improper conduct following his actions when turning and running the full length of the pitch to celebrate in front of the Arsenal supporters after scoring.”

After everything Arsenal did to help make him a star, he threw it all back in their face with a show of utter disrespect. To run the length of the pitch to taunt the away fans after scoring for Manchester City was outrageous and dangerous.

He incited the crowd and the FA should clamp down on him hard. The fans were not blameless but you simply cannot provoke them like that. It could have ended in a riot. Adebayor blames the fans for driving him out of Arsenal, but he would never think to look at himself first.

It was he who Arsenal plucked out of relative obscurity in France, who publicly linked himself with Barcelona and AC Milan, who signed a fat new contract at Arsenal, who failed to deliver last season, and who often looked uninterested in games

No wonder the fans wanted rid of him. What the hell did you think Ade, all those people paying through their noses for seasons tickets and satellite channels and to fund your luxurious lifestyle are a bunch of morons, that you could sit back on your arse and just run around on the field when you pleased, do you really think that’s value for money you lying sack of rat shite?? In Child Trafficking News Today:

September 8th, 2009 by The Editor, EF24/7

In child trafficking news today:

- Rennes accuse Manchester City of illegally signing defender Jeremy Helan, claiming: “Manchester City must now realise the consequences of their attitude in the Helan case as it is even more illegal than Kakuta.”

- Ian Wright and six Premier League players are involved in an academy accused by the South African FA of “raping” the country of its talent.

- Manchester United will sue Le Havre if they do not stop alleging the Premier League champions paid large sums of money to the parents of Paul Pogba.

- A transfer tribunal rules Everton must pay up to £1 million for Leeds defender Luke Garbutt, a 16-year-old whom Leeds chairman Ken Bates accused the Toffees of “nicking”.

- Crewe Alexandra say they are reporting an unnamed Premier League club for an alleged illegal approach to sign a 15-year-old from their academy. The Sun names the club as Liverpool and the player as Max Clayton.

- Crewe director of football Dario Gradi says: “The big clubs are stealing other people’s players and you worry financially for the clubs where the players are stolen from … I’m delighted with what has happened with Chelsea. I would hope all the big clubs are frightened to death. There is no excuse for breaking the rules.”

- FA director of football Sir Trevor Brooking says he is concerned at the number of foreign teenagers coming into England but claims the FA is powerless to prevent it.

- Chelsea’s Frank Lampard says the club’s transfer ban could work in their favour as it will bring the existing players closer together.

All of these stories come from the back of this morning’s papers. It is probably safe to say the Gael Kakuta judgement has not so much opened a can of worms as unleashed an oil tanker of those monsters from Tremors.

Now, Even Platini Backs Chelsea Ban!

September 7th, 2009 by The Editor, EF24/7

Classic. Just as Chelsea FC were all set to mount one of the strongest appeals ever against their ban, calling it a ‘conspiracy’ against English teams, Mr. Platini has backed FIFA over their reaction to the Kakuta signing. Platini claims signing young players in the way Chelsea have is nothing but ‘poaching’ of young talent. Platini also said although it’s FIFA’s ban still he is extremely interested in what the final result will be.

Well Mr. Platini, not that I’m supporting Chelsea, but I’d love to ask you WHY is no action taken when Madrid taps up players and offers them unimaginable salaries and gives clubs £80m for a single player?! Or i once again ask why can’t a salary or transfer cap be introduced!

Old Chelsea Get Screwed Over Stupidity In 2007

September 4th, 2009 by The Editor, EF24/7

Until lunchtime yesterday, most football fans had never heard of Gael Kakuta. And why would they have? He was just another teenage Chelsea youth team player after all.

Not any more. He is now the man whom Chelsea encouraged to breach his contract while at Lens in 2007 - a crime for which FIFA have banned them from registering any new players for the next two transfer windows.

Kakuta himself has been banned for four months and ordered to pay £680,000 damages - a sum that an 18-year-old academy player probably doesn’t have lying under his mattress. Mind, if Kakuta is like most teenagers, he will just charge it to his dad’s credit card. (In fact, FIFA regulations say the player and club are jointly responsible for the fine, which is roughly the same thing in football terms.)

This seems to have taken everybody completely by surprise. Few people even knew FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber was looking at the transfer, and none of those were expecting the verdict.

Chelsea possess the most well-oiled PR machine in British football, yet at the time of writing they have not responded - and dumbfounded silence is not their style.

Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger have been left behind in the big Premier League cash splash.

While Manchester City chief Mark Hughes, Liverpool gaffer Rafa Benitez and Roman Abramovich’s Chelsea are staring at massive holes in their bank balances, Fergie and Wenger have spent a pittance in comparison. Read the rest of this entry »
