The Bloody Break…

February 28th, 2010 by The Editor, EF24/7

What happened to Aaron Ramsey was unforgettable. It was a horror story all over again. In a fit of rage i attacked others. I apologize for that action. But,to say that “it happens” sounds ludicrous to me and it should to you too. Three players, three Arsenal players breaking their legs in five or six years cannot be a coincidence. I admire Ryan Shawcross as a defender.Yes, his record for never being sent off before is admirable, But, it takes just one moment of madness to end a career. Aaron James Ramsey may never play competitive football again, the great Welsh hope may never be the same player if he returns. He could do an Eduardo.

Ryan Shawcross is not a dirty player. Atleast that is what Tony Pulis had to say. I am not saying he is a cheating, lying, Mangy son of a cannibal. I am just saying that by not pulling out of that tackle he has made the whole world shudder and maybe ended a young lad’s dream of playing. Where is FIFA now ? UEFA and Platini had a lot to say about Eduardo’s dive. Now do they have anythinng to say about that tackle? They will not do a thing, the shameless hypocrites. I would not ban him for life or for any period. He did what he had to do and anyways people are all going to now tell us to get over it. So i will just Shrug my shoulders and say “Shit Happens”.

No, I do not believe in coincidence. But, i do believe that people should now hang their heads in shame. I am not angry anymore at Shawcross, atleast he looked apologetic, the mug…

Tony Pulis on the other hand, he is a disgraceful welsh muppet.

I Say Punch Him In The Face!

February 26th, 2010 by The Editor, EF24/7

All eyes will be on Wayne Bridge and his girl’s ex-lover John Terry just 2 minutes before kick-off when, as per Premiership rules, they’re supposed to shake hands. It’ll be interesting to see what Bridge would do especially after turning his back on the England squad for the Egypt game and the ‘10 WC because of the presence of his former national skipper John Terry.

Now it is said that a professional should be a professional and leave all his personal problems with a counterpart outside the pitch. But what would you do if one of your colleagues/team-mates stabs you in the back by shagging your girl when you’re away? Especially if you’re a rubbish footballer, present in the national team only because the 1st choice left-back is injured and are getting any little importance only because of the a fore-mentioned incident/tragedy?

I’d say you punch that SOB so hard it knocks him out!

This novel idea was actually suggested by former Liverpool midfielder Craig Johnston. Here’s what he had to say; “Mate, this may sound a little Aussie, but once you’ve hit a bloke in the face, everything else becomes a bit secondary. Afterwards, you kind of forget all the other stuff and put your differences aside.”

And I’d really like to see Bridge do that. Now who hasn’t ever done that? And you gotta agree that it works. You kind of feel relieved. And to be honest, Bridge’s been quite a twunt in the whole incident actually. If he’d have balls he would have already confronted Terry or at lest issued a strong public statement.

All he did was back out of the national team when he could’ve actually met Terry face-to-face or at least made a statement. In stead, he backed out letting everyone know how big a loser he is!

All this has left Don Fabio look pretty stupid after all that he did for not only the image of the national squad but also for Bridge. Capello, who has the look of someone who might not consider the Johnston approach, has not taken this as final and has indicated that were Bridge to have a change of heart the door would always be open for him. Which, when you consider Bridge’s recent performances, was quite a statement!

You got to feel bad for him though. Three of his back four already have suffered tournament-threatening injury. The fourth’s brain appears to be in turmoil. To lose one of his favoured substitutes over an affair of the heart must have him shaking his head in despair.

One thing is for sure, it wouldn’t happen in Italy. Over there, never mind the feelings of emergency left backs, they make blokes who sleep with other blokes’ wives and girlfriends the Prime Minister.

But anyway, all said and done I’d really like to see John Terry get a hard knock on his face after all the rubbish he’s been doing. It’s that air of arrogance you see on his face even after all this that annoys me the most. Not once has the man had the courtesy to apologize to either Bridge or the fans.

What do you say?

The Magic Of Mourinho!

February 26th, 2010 by The Editor, EF24/7

Say what you like about Jose Mourinho, but he certainly knows how to make a statement.

The Portuguese manager did not celebrate either of his side’s goals as Internazionale beat Chelsea 2-1 in their Champions League second round first leg in Milan, as a mark of respect to his former club.

Just when a fresh dose of canny sound bites and sly digs at his opposite number in the pre-match build-up was in danger of veering into self-parody, Mourinho gave a magnanimous display in the Inter dugout as his team put the quarter-finals in their sights.

He is too shrewd to do anything that might dent his popularity with his adoring fans at his former club. When visiting supporters milling around the Siro are chanting a former manager’s name, some two-and-a-half years after he left, you know they must be doing something right.

It is clear that there is an enmity between Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti, but there was little air of self-satisfaction in his reactions during or after the match.

All of which must piss-off Ancelotti much more than any overtly brash celebrations would have done.

The latest man to step into Jose’s shadow at Stamford Bridge saw at first hand how, no matter how well he is doing in his first season at the club, he has a long way to go before he is judged on his own terms by employer, media and fans alike.

There was something saddening about seeing such an intelligent and dignified man return to the scene of so many of his past glories and seem so utterly isolated. This is the kind of effect that no manager other than Mourinho can have on an 85,000-seater stadium.

The real worry for the Chelsea boss now is that the same effect will take hold of the return leg in West London, only magnified. The media clamour seen in Milan will increase tenfold as Mourinho feeds line after line to an over-awed press pack just grateful to have him back, if only for a fleeting visit.

There will no doubt be more quotes about how he plans to return to Chelsea one day, perhaps adding how he regards London as his home. He may reveal how he phoned Petr Cech to check up on his injury scare right after the first leg, describe the Manchester City job as an exciting challenge, or taking a dig at Rafa.

And all this will preface the hero’s welcome he will inevitably receive when he walks out there at SB. It’s just a shame that, such is the nature of the new format that we’ll have to wait a good 3 weeks for it.

Chelsea’s Horrible Defending Helps Inter Take a 2-1 Into The Second Leg

February 25th, 2010 by The Editor, EF24/7

Big talks but with a cock! That was the story of last night’s CL Round of 16 tie between the special one and once upon a time his unbeatable Chelsea. That wasn’t just it, Chelsea GK Petr Cech went limping off with a bad looking injury.

However, all said and done, Chelsea did play the better and more creative football right after conceding withing 3 minutes of the start after Milito cut Terry and shot the ball past Cech into the Chelsea net. Chelsea dominated right after conceding. Drogba unleashed a fabulous free-kick in the first half from almost 35-yards out which hit the post. Close to the end of the first half, Kalou was, according to him, fouled in the 6-yard box by the wrong footed Walter Samuels. No penalty was awarded.

Not That We Like Stupid Fabainski, But The Referee Was Actually Quite Rubbish. Mr. Wenger Is Crying Right For A Change!

February 20th, 2010 by The Editor, EF24/7

On wednesday night, we witnessed one of the WORST cases of refereeing we would ever come across! The referee for the game was Sweden’s Martin Hansson. The same ref who somehow managed to miss Henry’s clear hand ball in the WC qualifiers.

How the F*** could he allow Porto players to take the indirect kick so early!? Keeper Fabianski, who is not only unbelievably rubbish, but was also not ready at that time! How could a goal not go!? Firstly, even the indirect was controversial

Mr. Wenger, who moans about even the smallest of things was, for a change, absolutely right in complaining about the ref this time. He said, “It has to be clarified first of all how UEFA nominate referees for games. They have to be much more open on how they rate their referees. Where is the ranking of the referees? I believe too much has gone on in the last 30 years. What has happened is not good for football.”

Rooney Rooney Rooney!

February 17th, 2010 by The Editor, EF24/7

Ideally this post should’ve been about last night’s game - Milan VS United and about Beckham’s fairytale re-union with father-figure SAF and boyhood club. Scoring their first goals away against Milan in more than 40 years of trying, Manchester United secured a monumental victory in the San Siro last night. But as I sat down, trying to gather words to describe United’s conquer over the Rossoneri At San Siro, trying to re-live one of the most entertaining matches in this years UCL. But all that could come to my mind was - WAYNE ROONEY!

Rather than a stonking, glorious, ruthless exhibition, the consensus amongst the purists is that Alex Ferguson’s men enjoyed the luck of the - presumably red - devil. And even the most loyal green-and-gold-eyed fan would have to concede they did have a fair share of fortune. They were fortunate that Paul Scholes can apparently shin the ball with more precision than most strikers, that the Milan full back Luca Antonini was lying injured on the touchline gifting Darren Fletcher the space to deliver a perfect cross for Scholes’s unorthodox equalizer, that never mind two, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, played as if in possession of three left feet.

The way he squandered chances during Milan’s early ascendancy, can it really be true that Arsene Wenger so desperately desires the Dutchman’s signature? After last night’s performance you’d have to wonder that if he does, it must solely be to make Nicklas Bendtner look a better player. And sure, they were lucky that Milan failed to make the most of a period in the first half when United’s defence played as if determined to give the ball away at every opportunity. Can you imagine Ronaldinho almost at his best for a good half-hour?

But most of all Manchester United had this enormous slice of providence: they had in their line up Wayne Rooney. Before yesterday’s game, Ferguson sharply reproached reporters for their constant praising of his forward. “You guys make out like he’s the greatest thing ever,” he mocked. Which only goes to prove that as far as the United manager is concerned the press can never do right. The trouble is, after watching last night it is hard to do anything other than lavish him with praise.

If you want to know how good Rooney was last night, imagine this: Read the rest of this entry »

It’s Bigger Than Beckham Against His Former Club. Much, Much Bigger!

February 15th, 2010 by The Editor, EF24/7

Much has been made of David Beckham’s reunion with Manchester United since his former club were drawn against his current club Milan in the last 16 of the Champions League.

The tie must be seen as the stand-out fixture of the round, because it is about the meeting of two of the biggest clubs in Europe. David Beckham as an individual doesn’t really come into it.

There are plenty of other players who have left United and faced them for their new clubs, but there was never the hype that there is about Beckham at the moment. It might make a nice story for him personally, but from a footballing perspective it is an irrelevance.

Right now he is only on the fringes of the first team, after disappointing in the recent derby match and only coming on as a substitute in Milan’s last two games. The return from injury of Pato and the January signing of Mancini have relegated him to the bench.

Leonardo may not see the former England captain as the man to help them through this tie, and I would be very surprised to see him start at the San Siro.

The Milan boss knows that an ageing Beckham will not be sharp enough in midfield when his team don’t have the ball, and even when they do he will be hounded by the likes of Darren Fletcher and Park Ji-sung, players who cover ground very quickly in the centre of the park.

Leonardo would do well to follow the example of Alex Ferguson by not letting sentiment over Beckham cloud his judgement, as it could cost him and Milan dearly. Milan fans won’t be interested in his reunion with a team he last played for almost seven years ago, and they could turn on the Brazilian coach if he panders to the hype.

Ferguson is probably hoping that Beckham does feature, as that could play right into his hands. Read the rest of this entry »

How To Screw Up A Club In The World’s Highest Money Spinning League!

February 12th, 2010 by The Editor, EF24/7

Portsmouth have been given another seven days to stave off ‘Pompeygeddon’ after the High Court gave them a breather following an order put upon them by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs(HMRC).

The story will rumble on for at least another week now, although perhaps longer if the club can find their fifth owner of the season in time to avoid liquidation.

Pompey pleaded for more time on the basis that they have received two “serious offers” to buy the financially shattered club, as opposed to the clown offers that were accepted from Sulaiman al-Fahim and Ali al-Faraj.

It shows how severe their case is that they only got seven days to sort out their affairs while lower divisions clubs Cardiff and Southend both got 28 days.

The meltdown at Fratton Park is the biggest financial story in football since Leeds’ spectacular fall from grace, with two key differences: Portsmouth never really splashed obscene cash on players (Seth Johnson, anyone?) and they actually lifted a trophy.

That FA Cup triumph less than two years ago must feel like a long time ago for Pompey fans, especially when you look at the time-line of events that followed it: Read the rest of this entry »

United Share Points At Villa Park - Lose Giggs For A Month / Chelsea LOSE / Arsenal Back In The Race After Gunning The Reds

February 11th, 2010 by The Editor, EF24/7

United took a creditable point from last night’s clash with Aston Villa after playing for an hour with only ten men. With Chelsea losing at Everton and Liverpool losing at Arsenal it was a pretty good night for the champions. Few will have backed the Toffees to beat the West London club, and United fans will have taken a degree of satisfaction from hearing that Liverpool’s top four aspirations took another knock at the Emirates.

The main talking point of United’s performance at Villa Park surrounded the sending off of Nani for a two footed lunge at Stiliyan Petrov - at least that is how Peter Walton saw it. It wasn’t a good challenge; Ferguson later described it as naive - ‘poor’ would have been a better word.

Fergie went on to say Nani isn’t a dirty player; he’s right on that score. Nani doesn’t have a reputation, other than that of being a diver, so United fans cannot suggest the referee had it in for him. But when you looked at the TV replays, Nani appeared to be going for the ball and not the man. It was a challenge right out of the Steven Gerrard archives.

I’ve seen Gerrard go over the ball on countless occasions, he was at it in last weekend’s Merseyside derby - ironically when Liverpool were also down to ten men; however, there’s one big difference between player’s like St Gerrard and Nani. The Liverpool captain consistently gets away with making rash challenges whereas others like Nani are not so lucky.

I have no idea why St Gerrard gets away with making so many bad challenges, but he does, more so than any other leading player that I can recall.

Carping aside, the Villa Park result was a fair one, neither team deserved to lose. Giggsy was sent for an arm x-ray and will be missing out for a month, but apart from that United can now look forward to the trip to Milan next with no game this coming weekend.

Nothing much to say on this one. Fine performance. Fair point.

Well, Chelsea aren’t exactly ArsenalFC04, are they? And that was proved last night when they went up against the Toffees. Definitely an off-day for the leaders. The west-Londers must be thanking their luck after United failed to bag all 3 at Villa park.

David Moyes has definitely managed to bring Everton back to the pre-season expectation levels. Take a bow.

Just a few thoughts though …

I. Louis Saha.
That’s three goals in two matches against the Blues this season for the Frenchman. He is to Chelsea was Drogba is to Arsenal. Lest we forget Saha also scored the opener in last season’s FA Cup Final, after just 25 seconds — supplanting Chelsea’s own Roberto Di Matteo in 1997 against Middlesborough (43 seconds) as the quickest goal in Cup final history. The only resolution for Chelsea: purchase the bastard. Get the cheque book out Romes.

II. Micheal Ballack.
What does he really do? I mean seriously, £130,000-a-week for a spectator?

III. The Age. It’s telling.
A week of preparation — and, most importantly, rest – and they’ll batter anybody. And I mean anybody. Throw in a midweek-er and Chelsea look an absolute mess. Tired legs are EVERYWHERE. This team is ancient. If there’s not a major overhaul in the summer, I’ll be shocked. It’s kind of sad really that such a significant era in this club’s history is drawing to a close.

IV. Ashley Cole.
The world’s finest left fullback departed with a foot/ankle injury during the second half. It looked bad. If it’s broken, they’re in serious, serious trouble.

V. Away Form.
Weird. Last season, they were spectacular away, rubbish at home. This term, the exact opposite. From a possible 39 points, they’ve taken just 21 down the road. This includes defeats at Wigan, Aston Villa and Manchester City; draws at West Ham, Birmingham and Hull City. Inexplicable. The most concerning aspect of this may be the fact that this side doesn’t seem to know what to do with a lead — whether to push on or resort to Mourinho-mode and protect. Figure it out, Carlo.

VI. Urgency.
Where is it? One would have expected Chelsea to respond in the second half after only a Petr Cech penalty save — shocking, I know — kept the, from trailing at the break. Instead, they looked even more hapless at the opening of the final 45. Anelka, in particular, was appalling today. Only with 15 minutes left, when Sturridge replaced Mikel, did they actually begin to resemble their rampaging best. It wasn’t enough, obviously. But you’ve got to think, where was that earlier?

-Sent in by Neil Chedda.

Playing Arsenal at the Emirates has always been a tough task. Facts don’t lie. We have only won once in 12 years at the Emirates. Last night could have been our best chance in a long time to improve that stat. Defeated in their last 2 matches, Arsenal were looking lightweight and with us on a good run of undefeated games, Arsenal could have been there for the taking. It would have been easy, some say.

But since when has Liverpool done anything the easy way? Not taking anything away from our boys though, for they played well. Macherano & Lucas (when will our fans give this boy a break?) were everywhere in the middle of the park. Gerrard was back to his roaming best. The match was hardly a spectacle given the flair and free-flowing football both teams are known for but definitely better than the raw bloodbath of the derby. Tackles were tough but fair. Unfortunately when we lost Carragher to a groin strain and replaced him with Mr. Smiley - Degen, our defence lost its shape and one lapse of concentration on the part of the substitute gave Diaby a free point-blank header that he simply couldn’t miss. Reina had no chance whatsoever with it. Go back a few minutes before the goal and you can clearly see Marsh having a real go at Degen when he lost the ball trying to play it to Dirk Kuyt. Well, I guess Mascherano’s screaming fell on deaf ears then. I’m not blaming Degen for the defeat but he was definitely our Achilles heel.

And what about that blatant handball by Fabregas? I’m not sure that it would be a penalty if it had been given, noting that he was standing on the edge of the box when he committed the crime. But it would have certainly meant another free-kick in a more dangerous position for Gerrard to test Almunia and definitely a red card for Fabregas for a second bookable offence. That would’ve ruled him out for Arsenal’s 2-3 games. That definitely would have been to our favour as we chase them for the 3rd spot because Arsenal aren’t the same team without skipper Fab in the middle pulling the strings. So advantage Arsenal, thanks to another refereeing decision that went against us. Another match, same story.

I felt that Ryan Babel should have started, or at least put on earlier. He provided a more direct approach in our attack and was much more threatening in the last 10-15 minutes that he came on than N’gog had been for the entire match. N’gog’s languid style of play can be frustrating to watch and in last night’s game, we needed a Rooney-like approach in our attack. I personally felt that Babel could have provided the thrust we needed in the final third. Maxi had a few great chances too but he must have left his scoring boots at home, seeing how he skied the ball embarrassingly high above the goal in one instance. Like Aquilani, he will be immense next season by the time he’s used to the pace and physicality of the English game.

Which makes the next game against City that more crucial for us. A direct competitor for our fight for a Champions League spot, a victory against them will definitely soothe the bitter wound of losing at the Emirates. A game for which we deserve at least a point.

Onwards and upwards, the Reds!

Can’t Score + Can’t Defend = Can’t Win The Title. Arsenal Are Out Of It

February 8th, 2010 by The Editor, EF24/7

Once again, Arsenal have been defeated by Drogba. He scored twice as Chelsea beat Arsenal 2-0 to put the Blues back on top of the Premier League. How hard do they find to defend against him? All it took Chelsea, errr.. Drogba, was two shots on target to defeat a possession keeping Arsenal side. What Arsenal have done the best this season, which no other club has:

1. Wasted unlimited possession.

2. Complained, Complained and Complained - Mr. Wenger of course.

3. Almost scored.

4. Been unbelievably predictable.

What Arsenal Must Do …

February 6th, 2010 by The Editor, EF24/7

After the 3-1 thrashing at home from the hands of Manchester United, Arsenal must set right if they are to regain their momentum & with it, their aspirations to become ‘Champions’ come May..

1. Almunia Can’t Judge For His Life

The involvement of a modern-day goalkeeper has been largely left to the miser task of picking the ball from the back of the net. Exceptions like Buffon, Casillas, Van der Sar et al, are few and far in between. At Arsenal, the No. 1 is more of a former. Not since David ‘Safe Hands’ Seaman, has Arsenal seen a custodian who infuses confidence in his ranks. Almunia, for starters, infuses fright amongst his back-four. The last time he actually turned up and played, was against United in the CL Semis 1’st leg. Injury kept him out of the first half of the current season, and ever since winning back his place from Fabianski & Manonne, he has been gravely inconsistent.

He was dreadful against United last week & was at fault for their first goal. If Arsenal are to have even a  sleight of a chance against the robust attack of Chelsea, then he better prove his detractors wrong come Sunday. Let’s hope he does.

PS: Personally I’m not yet convinced of his goal-keeping credentials in the first place. To see through the might of Drogba & Co., especially the corners & set-pieces will require more than Godly-intervention.

2. Is He Clichy Or Silvestre In Disguise!?

With likes of Anelka & Malouda marauding down the flanks for the Blues, the pair of Clichy & Sagna will have to be at their livid best. While Sagna has been his regular self all season (one tends to take him for granted at times), Clichy has been a misnomer vis-à-vis his former self. Injuries have denied him a longish run-in with the first team. He made Nani look pseudo-CR07 last week. Here’s hoping Malouda doesn’t turn into a ‘Ribery’ overnight!

3. They Better Stay ‘Gallic & Venomous’

Yes I’m referring to the most stellar defensive partnership the Grove has seen, since the ‘Sol-Kol’ days. Vermaelen in particular has been the ‘Signing-of-the-Season’ (not just for Arsenal, mind you!) thus far, & has refreshed Gallas’s desire to keep performing at the top level. Last time these two faced Chelsea, Drogba literally shredded them apart. The Blues will stick to their tight play down the center & will rely heavily on ‘long-balls’ to frighten the fragile Arsenal Back-four. I say fragile in reference to their ability in dealing with the long-balls & physical play, which btw largely forms the fulcrum of Chelsea’s attack. If Arsenal are to stop Chelsea from running away with the match, these two will have to STOP Didier Drogba, come what may. I wish them luck. Although, they’re gonna need hell more than plain luck in this one.

4. Diaby for Denilson. Eboue for Denilson. Hell, Anyone But Denilson!

One Gunner, not many are fond of. He topped the charts last season, when it came to accuracy (i.e. % distribution) with which a footballer passes the ball. Did anyone care to question where those passes actually went? I have the answer: sideways or backwards. Very seldom does he thread forward, even scarcer is his role in shielding the back-four, by making those last-ditch lunges. In fact, he only excels in passing the ball (sideways or backwards!). He was woeful against United, & two screamers apart, has been woeful all season long.

Diaby, on the other hand, has been a breath of fresh air this term. Not only has he found his long-lost vigour for the game, the abundance of raw talent that he possesses, makes him all the more dangerous. His decent goal tally, as well as filling-in for Song if & when required, speaks volumes about the form that he is in. Wenger must start him alongside Alex Song this Sunday. This will not only make our mid-field slightly heavy-weight but will also provide the much-needed height dealing with the set-pieces.

One probing question here is Diaby’s fitness. Not sure if he is making the squad as of now. If not him, Arsene should opt for Nasri, even Eboue. Anyone but Denilson, on current form.

5. Time For Some Russian Roulette!?

Wenger’s decision to play Arshavin all alone at the top seemed to have paid off during the holiday period, but then time caught up with the little Russian. Despite his technical brilliance, he is clearly not made for leading the line. It’s unfair on him & his talent. He is best when he runs rings around defenders with the ball at his feet & creates the space to feed-in the approaching mid-fielders. We all know his ‘big-game temperament’ after scintillating Anfield on consecutive occasions & Old Trafford once. He was in mood to light the Emirates as well, against United the other day. But his lack of decision-making cost Arsenal dear. He could have brought Nasri or Cesc into play but went for solo-glory. So unlike him but that was that. Let’s look ahead.

I personally feel, Bendtner should be started for this one & supported by Arshavin & Rosicky from the flanks. Theo can come in for Rosicky at a later point. Niklas has been very vocal off-late & wants to prove his mettle, so try him out. After all, the result can’t be worse than the 3-1 last week!

6. Self-Belief Answers Half The Problems

When the Gunners march onto the pitch this Sunday, they must carry pockets full of desire, courage & determination with them. They must remember it was them who ended Chelsea’s winning streak last season with their backs to the wall. Arsene should be prepared with another of his ‘Boys, You don’t deserve the Red n White’s of Arsenal’ tirade, just in case the fellas are found faltering at the break. A victory in this one is a must.

The likes of Nasri, Rosicky, Gallas, Vermaelen & above all Captain Cesc must rise to the occasion & make this one count. Fabregas, has in him to single-handedly destroy the ‘Blues’, like he picked out Villa not long ago. But he’ll need his team-mates to anchor along.

Full points at the ‘Bridge’ will see Arsenal go just 3 adrift of the league leaders, whereas another loss, will surely quell their chances, as the gap would then further swell to 9. With 13 games to go after this one, it would be very difficult to close-in again.

As for Chelsea, one can’t say much. The focus will mainly be on tainted captain(& ex-England captain) John Terry. After his ‘heroics’ off the field and the punishment suffered later, it’ll be interesting to see how Terry reacts to all those chants about his lose pants from the Gooners. The Chelsea loyalists will support him no doubt but unlike the last match when Terry maintained stiff silence, he won’t probably be so guarded has he doesn’t have something to lose anymore. The England captaincy, as expected, has gone.

Fortunately for him his manager and half his mates at Stamford Bridge(the ones who bedded her too!) have been extremely supportive of him.
